To the hot springs of Terskey Ala-Too

Brief description:      Want to ride a Kyrgyz horse to visit the famous beautiful parts of Kyrgyz mountains, so this 5 days trekking on a horse is for you. You will have the opportunity to discover the natural areas of Terskey Ala-Too, the hot springs, rivers hiogh peaks of Terskey Ala Too range. You will be able to take a dip in the hot springs of Altyn-Arashan and wild hidden hot spring located in Takyr-Tor valley.  You can add 1 more day and climp up to Ala-Kol pass for the amazing view of Ala-Kol lake, located at an altitude of 3 530 m. There are not enough words to describe the beauty of the lake and its surrounding landscape, you just need to see it!

Day to day plan:

Day 1- By car (15min) get to the start point to a village next to Karakol town, meet with the guide get instructions and start on horseback from a base through the Kok-Tuz pasture and up through the Altyn-Arashan valley. Time on horseback about 4 hours. Stay in a Yurt or guesthouse at the Hot Springs.

Day 2-  Ride up into the remote valley called Tashtektir with waterfall, you will have possibility to bath, then further to the end of the valley to the camp place. From there short hike on foot to a panorama point with view on Palatka Peak (5020m). Stay in tents. 6-7 hours on horseback

Day 3- Ride up to Takyr-Tor valley. Camping at the wild hot springs. 4-5 hours on horseback.

Day 4- Ride back to Altyn-Arashan hot springs. Depending on arrival time possible tomake a loop trip to Anyrt-Tor valley for its small lakes. 4-5 hours on horseback. Stay inguest house or Yurt in Altyn-Arashan.

Day 5- Ride down through Altyn-Arashan gorge to start point. End of the trekking. By car return to Karakol. 3-4 hours on horseback.

Conditions of the program:

Equipment: Participants must have their equipment such as backpacks, desirable to have a personal sleeping bag, warm clothes, trekking shoes, etc. (The whole structure of personal equipment)

Physical requirements: Participants must be in good physical condition, but don't need any special skills of horse riding.

What else?

Round trip transport between Bishkek-Karakol-Bishkek:

             By yourselves? You can easily catch a taxi or minibus by yourself in the western bus station in Bishkek. The ride takes approximately six hours (400km). In Karakol, you can settle in any reputed hotel or guest house. Our guide will meet you in Karakol and provide a briefing.   

            Our guests? For our guests, we organize a private comfortable transport from and to Bishkek/Manas International Airport, including a visit to the Burana Tower in Tokmok, a stop to the petroglyphs in Cholpon Ata and an excursion in Karakol, in the presence of our english speaking guide. Lodging in a local partners house with a clean shower/toilet, amazing breakfast and Kyrgyz history from the lips of our grandfathers, at the start and the end of the trekking (2 nights).
