“It's no secret that Backcountry ski/snowboard community is all about hunting down the wildest, remotest, flung mountains in search of unexplored lines and fresh powder”, but it doesn't mean you have to be out of comfort in the coldest winter without a warm sleeps, epic meals, some good tunes and nice chats behind the après ski.
Jyrgalan. This small settlement was founded by Soviet government as a coal mine back in 1936es. During the existing period it supplied the largest part of Kyrgyz SSR with a black gold and finally in 1996 with Soviet breakup mine was paused, the case got majority of the workers back to the flat.
Since country get independent the village have a typical post Soviet scenery with a plenty destroyed infrastructures...
For us Jyrgalan is the sensation of endless terrain where we come to leave crowds behind and get POWed again.
Our guests are will be provided with a finite Skiers lodge at the upper edge of the village. This exceptional spot gives immediate access to the fall line of the Kyrgyz five star backcountry skiing in all direction right from the front door of the house. Local bottomless powder blanketing rows of epic steep ranges, mellow glides and wide open bowls offering 400 to 1000 meters of vertical drops every run.
You will have a six different ski zones featuring sweet selection of all aspects alpine for skiing steep with possible first descents in a good condition with blue bird days and massive backyard with open tree line for shredding powder and stay independent on the weather and snow conditions.
Each dinner will be served in the traditional Kyrgyz yurt in the local style like we celebrating something very important where you will get epic food, lots of comfy and real Yurt life experience.
We are open for bookings from self-guided groups with advanced backcountry ski/splitboarding experience or Guides who wants to face their crew with a ultimate Kyrgyz adventure.
Location: Eastern Terskey Ala-Too Range, eastern Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul province, Jyrgalan village.
Access: 62 km/1,5 hr driving from Karakol. 460 km/7-8 hrs driving from Bishkek
Facilities: Warm, cosy house with two (bed) rooms, one loby (library) room, two separate (with hot and cold running water) bathrooms. One traditional, felt covered Yurt (optional sleeping area). One dining Yurt. Two outdoor terraces. Fire pit. Massive backyard for sunset skiing and lots of midnight stars. We living Kyrgyz family lifestyle in here sleep on the floor, eat all together, crank the woodstove every evening.

Dinners: Lagman (Meat and vegetables with spicy souce on top of a hand-stretched noodles). Plov (Rice with mutton and vegetables). Besh barmak (Lam, noodles, onions with a soup of a mutton). Dymdama (Vegetables with beef covered by cabbage and steamed in Kazan). Kuurdak (Fried beef,lam or chicken with potatos)

Experience: All members in the group should be experienced on backcountry skitouring at least two seasons and have a level one avalanche safety course.
Insurance: Every one who joining us for skiing in KG should have a personal MED-EVAC insurance which can be easily paired with Kyrgyz mountain rescue service.
Gear: Fat skis (115mm-min) or splitboards, Whole structure of avalanche safety gear: (float bag (strongly recommended), transeever/beacons (must), shovel (must), probe (must).

Round trip transports and stays before/after the tour:
By yourselves? You can easily catch a taxi or minibus by yourself in the western bus station in Bishkek. It takes approximately 6 hours of driving (390km). In Karakol you can settle in any reputed hotel or guest house. Our staff and driver will meet you there with briefing and drive you up to Jyrgalan next day. Or take it easy and use "Our guests?" service
Our guests? Than we organize a private comfortable pickup from and to Bishkek/Manas International airport. Guesthouse in Karakol with a clean shower/toilet, and amazing breakfast at the beginning and the end of your ski session (2 nights). Stay in Bishkek (1 night). For just an extra $ 190/person
